Top 5 Navigation and Maps Apps in Central America Q3 2024

During the third quarter of 2024, the top navigation and maps apps in Central America demonstrated varied performance in terms of downloads and active users, as revealed by Sensor Tower data.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads peaking at around 133K in late July. Despite fluctuations, downloads remained above 108K throughout the quarter. Weekly active users exhibited an upward trajectory, starting at approximately 1.88M and peaking at over 2.08M by late September.

Google Maps experienced a steady flow in weekly downloads, starting at 123K in early July and fluctuating around the 95K to 113K range throughout the quarter. The app's active user base was robust, with numbers consistently above 4.95M, peaking at 5.11M in mid-September.

Google Earth saw a decline in weekly downloads from early July, dropping from 58K to around 37K by the end of the quarter. Active users followed a similar trend, decreasing from 308K to 284K, with a slight increase in late September.

Offline Maps, GPS, Speedometer exhibited a notable increase in weekly downloads, beginning at 7.9K and surging to over 35K by the end of September. The app's active users mirrored this growth, rising from 14.8K to 34.8K during the same period.

Radar Map, Radar Detector, HUD showed significant growth in weekly downloads, starting at 3.5K and reaching 62K by late September. The app's weekly revenue also increased, climbing from $39 to $106 over the quarter. Active users saw a steady rise from 95K to 161K.
